Objective:
To create awareness among girl students on gender sensitization, legal literacy, social responsibility, child marriage, gender equality, freedom of choice.

Event Details:
Institute Yuvati Sabha Committee organized an infotainment programme on Ekaa Lagnaachi Kortatli Gosht. The resource person was Ms. Alka Pawangadkar. She has been actively working on women and child-related issues since 1987 and has contributed to gender sensitization across Maharashtra. The programme began with a warm verbal welcome and felicitation ceremony. The Institute Director, Dr. Vaishali Patil Ma’am, delivered the preface of the program to set the context for the session.
The program was graced by the esteemed presence of Hon.Jayshreeben Patel( Former President of Shirpur Muncipal Coopration),Hon.Krutiben Patel(Director SES & RCPET),Hon.Rita Patel, and Dr.Sunita Patil(Diretor- MPSTME Shirpur Campus). The core of the event was the Infotainment Programme presented by Ms. Alka Pawangadkar, which engaged the audience through storytelling, inspirational songs, and social awareness themes.The programme, presented in the form of a one-act play, narrated the inspirational story of Rakhma, a 19th-century young woman from Mumbai, who bravely opposed child marriage and fought a prolonged legal battle for her choices. Through this dramatic performance, the audience witnessed Rakhma’s courage and persistence, which eventually led her to become the the first practicing woman doctor with an M.D. degree in Bombay Province, where she served until 1930. The story highlighted critical issues such as child marriage, parenting, consent and compatibility in marriage, impediments in women’s lives, legal reforms, and socio-cultural evolution.
The session was highly engaging, followed by an interactive Question–Answer session, where students shared their thoughts and clarified their doubts about women’s rights and social reforms.
