The Yuvati Sabha organized an Awareness Session on “Cervical Cancer” with the objective of creating awareness about cervical cancer, its causes, prevention, screening, and vaccination among women. The session was graced by the presence of eminent guests, including Mrs. Sangitatai Devore (Vice President, Shirpur Municipal Corporation), Dr. Rakhi Agrawal (Medical Practitioner and Active Social Worker), Dr. Jaylaxmi Girase (Medical Practitioner and Active Social Worker), and Dr. Rupali Agrawal (President, Lyness Club). The program commenced with the felicitation of the distinguished guests. The resource person, Dr. Shradha Kapadi, was felicitated by Dr. Manoj Behere as a mark of respect and appreciation in the presence of Mr. Tushar Patel. Following this, Ms. Pushpanjali Patil delivered a brief and informative introduction of the speaker. Dr. Shradha Kapadi then began the awareness session on cervical cancer. She provided detailed information on the Human Papilloma Virus (HPV), explaining its life cycle in the cervix and the classification of different HPV types. She clearly differentiated between cancer-causing and non-cancer-causing HPV types. The resource person also elaborated on various screening levels, diagnostic methods, and the importance of regular health check-ups. Furthermore, Dr. Kapadi explained vaccination details, including the appropriate age group and benefits of HPV vaccination. She emphasized that cervical cancer is preventable through proper education, awareness, regular screening, and timely vaccination. Her presentation was informative and created strong awareness among the participants.
The session concluded with an interactive discussion during which participants actively engaged and clarified their doubts regarding cervical and breast cancer prevention and care. It ended with a formal vote of thanks.
